YEAR: 1990
The Start Of The Journey
A few years ago, that is in the year 1990 few Residents, Friends from Vikhroli came together and had a good Numbers of Sai Bhakts in their group, this made them to the conclusion of Making a Sai Mandir in Vikhroli.
YEAR: 1992
The Year of Foundation
In the year 1992, all the responsible persons lead a foundation stone for Sai Mandir, they brought a small idol of Shri Sai Baba, started worshipping it, at the start it was covered with the small bamboos at the edges with a small roof at the top of idol, slowly many devotees started visiting this temple.
YEAR: 2000s
The Years of Temple Structure
The Mandal Slowly started to Built a Proper Temple structure. By the year the 2000s it became very famous in Vikhroli and also in the central part of Mumbai. Gudipadwa is been celebrated in a very Grand and Traditional way. A Palkhi from Parel “Sai Darshan Mandal” every year they get their Palkhi in this temple since last 25 years this is been happening, also until date, there are 50-60 Palkhis from across mumbai who come and stay for a while at this temple and then leave for their further destination shirdi.
YEAR: 2005
The Year of Big Decisions
After 15 years in 2005, some great and big decisions were taken by the trustees and the temple members. The decision was to renovating the temple and also getting and installing a new idol of Shri Sai Baba, the same as the idol which is at Shirdi, after searching for many idol makers finally we got the sculptor who was the grandson of the person who has made the idol which is at Shirdi, so we took the decision of getting idol from this person only.
YEAR: 2006
Welcoming The New Sai Baba Idol
In the year 2006, We welcomed the new Sai Baba Idol in a very grand way, after the installation of the new Idol of Sai Baba, The Mandir Committee took the decision to perform activities same which happens at Shirdi Sai Mandir, by following the same time and schedule is followed like Shirdi.
